Category Manager/Marketing Manager
The successful candidates will be required to:
• Responsible for category strategy including aligning Pan African/cross functional category strategy.
• Initiate NPD process.
• Responsible for category pricing.
• Delivery of overall budgeted profitability by growing and sustaining category performance.
• Lead selection of appropriate trade channels.
• Explore & exploit new opportunities for the category portfolio.
• Approve A&P plan for assigned categories within guidelines and create and modify as necessary.
• Monitor, control and report category performance through brand health indicators such as NNS,
GM, MC & key consumer KPIs providing solutions to shortfalls. Ensure measures relevant and
develop appropriate resources/solutions if required.
• Proactively identify resources and sources to support category growth.
• Coaching, managing & developing high performance teams, including sourcing brand managers.
• Creating & expanding demand through maximising resource and minimising duplication.
• Responsible for ensuring ABM induction programme is appropriate.
The right candidates must:
• Possess a good university degree in any discipline, preferably in Business Administration, MBA will be considered a strong plus
• Possess a first class numeric and communication skills
• Possess eight to ten (8 – 10) years experience in a similar role with a reputable/international company, preferably in the foods industry.
• Possess high levels of determination and desire to succeed in a result oriented environment
• Be a good team player but with the ability to drive the team to unsurpassed success
• Be mobile and willing to be flexible in terms of location
