COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Job Purpose:-
To implement communications programs and strategies that support the projection of positive image of the company internally and externally.

Key Duties:-
1. To create, implement and oversee communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products.

2. To develop and maintain strong external and internal communications.

3. To develop a national communications strategy.

4. To project the work of the PZ CUSSONS FOUNDATION and other Sponsorship / Donation activities and ensure delivery of the maximum positive impact on the consuming public.

5. To build the organization’s reputation by increasing awareness and understanding of our work among our external audiences.
6. To cultivate strong relationships with the regional/local media (print and broadcast) to deliver the organization’s messages confidently and regularly, positively and accurately.

7. including building and maintaining relationships with journalists, researching stories, identifying media angles, organising press conferences and writing press releases.

8. To champion cultural change moves within the organization.

9. To develop and execute in conjunction with commercial management, new ways of maximizing and enhancing strategy through non-paid for media.

10. To effectively manage key communications channels including local publications, intranet/internet etc.

11. To implement corporate internal and external communication policies, strategy and guidance.

12. To oversee the production of speeches and position papers for senior management.

The Person: 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Needed:-
• B.Sc. Mass Communications, MBA (Management).
• Membership of Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM-Chartered).
• Computer expertise especially in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• 5 - 10 years minimum working experience with 5 years at senior management level.
• Excellent PR skills.
• Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and deliver to agreed deadlines.
• Thoroughness, accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
• Service driven and professional.
• Enthusiastic approach to change.
• Excellent interpersonal relations skills
• Excellent presentation and writing skills
• Skill in writing for a variety of audiences, writing and editing news and feature articles.
• Fluency in most Nigerian languages.
